Luna Sasaki

Luna was born in Kanagawa, Japan and began her dance training at the age of six. By the age of sixteen, she had moved to the United States to further her training at the Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy under full scholarship, and at the Boston Ballet School as a trainee. She won first place in the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals and was qualified as a finalist at the New York final round in 2011. Some of her favorite repertoire includes the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Suzuki in Stanton Welch's Madame Butterfly, the Peasant Pas de Deux couple in Giselle and Red Couple in Jiří Kylián's Forgotten Land. This is Luna’s third season with Alberta Ballet.
