Alan Ma


Lang Ma (Alan) is from China and began his formal training in 2006 at the LiaoNing Ballet of China Academy.  He continued his training in Vancouver B.C. at the Goh Ballet Academy before going to the United States to attend the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, D.C. While at The Washington Ballet, Alan had the opportunity to perform in The Nutcracker in the roles of Chinese, Spanish, Star, and Prince. His other repertoire includes roles in Le Corsaire, Coppelia, and Don Quixote. Alan has won numerous awards including a Gold Medal in the 2014 World Ballet Competition, 2015 Youth America Grand Prix 3rd Place Senior Division NYC, 2014 Youth America Grand Prix Finalist, 2013 Korea International Ballet Competition Second Place, 2012 China Tao Li Bei Competition First Place, and First Place in the 2010 Osaka International Youngsters Ballet Competition. Most recently with the Columbia Classical Ballet Company in Washington, DC, this is Alan’s first season with Alberta Ballet.
